Do you have Obstructive Sleep Apnea?
Diagnosis
The Home Sleep Apnea Test (HSAT) is performed with user-friendly equipment. Once our Sleep Clinician provides a brief orientation, the HSAT is carried out by the patient in the comfort of their home during a normal night’s sleep. It provides a recording for review by a Independent Interpreting Sleep Physician who will then determine if the patient has OSA, how severe it is, and how low one’s oxygen levels fall during sleep. The results are provided to your Family Physician for review and determination of next steps.
More Details
A home Sleep Apnea Test (HSAT) may be required:
- If you have unexplained daytime fatigue, even after adequate time in bed.
- If you snore loudly.
- If your partner has observed you stop breathing during sleep or you have woken up choking or gasping for air.
- If you have diabetes, unexplained morning headaches, or have ever had high blood pressure or high cholesterol.
- If you have a large neck circumference (more than 17 inches) and/or suffer from obesity.
- If you operate equipment and struggle with fatigue.
